About Us

The Navenby LIVES Responder group went live with its first responder on the 1st August 2009. The group consists entirely of volunteers from the local community and covers an area encompassing Wellingore, Navenby, Boothby Graffoe, Coleby and Harmston and outlying properties.

Hopefully we give the community some reassurance in knowing we are local and capable of giving, when called, early life saving intervention and that help may literally be "just around the corner". Having members of the community coming forward to give up their time to train and be on call, receiving no payment or expenses such as fuel costs, shows dedication and enthusiasm and is testament to the community spirit. Unfortunately getting volunteers is only one part, we then need the funds to train them and purchase new equipment, a problem that all charities, no matter how worthwhile the cause, face.

You may already know some of our team members or have seen them around the local area. If not the first time could be in an emergency when you have called 999. If they are called our LIVES First Responder could arrive before the ambulance. They will be dressed in LIVES uniform and will carry an identity card. If you are unsure we will not be offended if you check.

Support Us - Ways to Help

Our aim is to recruit and train more volunteers from the local community to become responders. By increasing our number of trained responders we can provide greater cover over a longer period of time.

To achieve our aim we need volunteers, but as a group we are required to raise our own funding to cover the cost of training and equipment. If we cannot raise the funds we could have volunteers willing to give up their time, but no means to train them. As a Registered Charity 1098364 we rely on the kind generosity of the public for donations and sponsorship as well as supporting our fund raising events.

There are many ways to make a contribution to the group by a donation or sponsorship, every little bit helps.

You can make a donation direct to us or through one of our collection tins, you can make an online donation via our page on the JustGiving website or you can become a Friend of LIVES by donating £20 to the group of your choice.

Corporate or individual sponsorship of a team or sponsored participation in an event to help fund a new members training, purchase new equipment or to replace existing equipment is another way to help raise vital funds.

Raising funds is a constant requirement with much of the activity being labour and time intensive.

If being a responder is not for you but you would still like to get involved and would like to join our fund raising volunteer who helps with organising and running fund raising activities we would certainly appreciate the assistance.

If you are running or know of any events we could attend to increase our profile and potentially raise some much needed funds then please contact us.

We have a dedicated page that allows you to make an online donation straight to the group, or if you are raising money by completing a sponsored event you can create an online sponsorship form all via a secure site used by a large number of charitable organizations.

The extra advantage of donating through JustGiving is if you are a UK taxpayer they will claim your giftaid contribution from the Inland Revenue on your behalf.

The giftaid contribution will automatically increase your donation by 25%. Go to JustGiving page
